Kim Delaney is an American actor who is most well-known for playing detective Diane Russell in ABCs series NYPD Blue for which she garnered the Emmy Award. Also, she is known for her role in the drama All My Children Philly CSI: Miami and Army Wives. Delaney, the only daughter of the United Auto Workers senior executive and a domestic worker, was raised with her four brothers and sisters. Though she had a dream of becoming journalist, it was not until her high school years when Delaney started modeling. When she moved away from New York City and gaining experience as a commercial model and commercials in New York did she achieve an aspiring career as court reporters. She was cast as a young innocent in 1981's soap-opera All My Children. Delaney was in numerous of television shows, films and dramatics since then. Delaney has not lived a satisfying or happy life in her personal. Her personal life has been a mess. She's had two failed marriages, and has struggled with alcohol addiction. In 2005, she lost the custody of her son.
